Wow! Term 3 has gone super fast!

Room 9 students enjoyed a big shared lunch to celebrate the end of term 3!
Thank you to all the whanau who brought in kai for us, it was delicious!
Students created some wonderful spring art! They painted brown branches onto light blue paper and then scrunched up pink tissue paper to create the cherry blossoms.
Students then glued the paper into a cylinder shape and hung pink tissue paper from the bottom.

This week Room 9 has been learning the te reo words for different types of weather. Here is a finished example completed by Melepalu.
Glenbrae School was lucky to have 150 knitted hats donated to all the students.

Room 9 are having a relaxing afternoon colouring their own Māori Tiki. Here are some examples.
Yesterday at 12.00pm Glenbrae School participated in singing 'tutira mai nga iwi' in celebration of Māori language week!
I am so proud of students in Room 9 who have been working EXTREMELY hard on their mosaic sunflowers. They look AWESOME.

This week, I have had time to put up some beautiful art done by Room 9 students. Room 9 is looking beautiful and colourful!
This week, students have been creating Tongan art pieces. They used vivid to go over their lines and then dyed using brown and orange dye.
Room 9's student teacher (also Miss Smith!) is doing a great job on her full control so far! Today in class, the students are learning to use the 5 senses to describe a spring scene.
This week we are celebrating Tongan Language week. Ka pai to the students who performed and spoke to confidently at the assembly.
In class, students have been reading the story ZAPPED! In the story, 2 kids create their on cleaning robot out of old junk.
I challenged Room 9 students to create their own robot, name it and say what it does!
This week students have been creating trophies for Father's Day. Students will give their trophies to their dad or a special caregiver they want to say thanks to.
Inside the trophies, students have written a kind note to their dad or special someone.
Room 9 love having their fitness lessons first thing in the morning!
What a great way to start the day.
