"The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate"

Students from Glenbrae School were lucky enough to be gifted seats from Gift a Seat to watch the performance "The Man Whose Mother Was a Pirate" by Margaret Mahy.

The performance was very entertaining and funny.

Thank you Gift a Seat and thank you Te Oro for having us!

Our day at the museum

For the first hour, students learned how to use the iNaturalist app. Students explored the domain and gardens around the museum and used the iNaturalist app to take pictures of insects, trees, flowers or anything they find.

These pictures are shared to a database and scientists analyse they pictures and let you know what they are!

The second half of the trip, students got to explore the museum with their adult helper. They were split into groups and explored lots of different sections.

They got to use a microscope to have a look closely at different bugs, leaves and shells.

They explored the insect section and got to look at heaps of different insects in glass cabinets.

We had lots of fun!

Cook Island Language Week!

We have had a great week at Glenbrae School celebrating Cook Island language week. On Wednesday we had a mufti day where all the students could dress up in their cultural gear.

We had a disco in the hall and all the students got an island donut. They danced to cultural music and had lots of fun!
